Jennifer Lopez 'American Idol is hard work'

Jennifer Lopez is preparing herself for a long slog reprising her role as an American Idol judge.

The singer says she was shocked at how hard her first season on the hit talent show was but it’s not put her off returning for a second time.

“It’s so funny because I was such a fan of the show in the beginning so I thought I pretty much knew what the show entailed,” says J-Lo, 42.

“I discovered that live TV is tiring so that was a big thing. That’s why I marvel at (host) Ryan Seacrest. When I think about how he gets up at three in the morning I think, ‘If he can do it I can do it’. But we still have fun.

“We have amazing talent so that always makes it exciting.”
