Benedict Cumberbatch 'My name lands me Star Trek roe'

Benedict Cumberbatch is making a name for himself in Hollywood in more ways than one.

The Brit actor has just been cast in Star Trek 2 and his director JJ Abrams admits Benedict’s distinctive name had some part to play in his big blockbuster break.

“We just were looking for someone with the most awesome name in history,” jokes JJ.

“That was the casting call. We asked for someone with the most awesome name in history, ever, and Benedict Cumberbatch showed up, so we were like, ‘You’re cast!’ Honestly, he’s just an incredible actor. He’s brilliant.”
