Angelina Jolie splashed out on a new wardrobe for her daughter Zahara’s seventh birthday.
The Land of Blood and Honey director who raises Zahara and five other children, Maddox, 10, Pax, eight, Shiloh, five, and three-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne with partner Brad Pitt paid a visit to a mall in Sherman Oaks, California, on Sunday, where she picked up “several bags” of clothes from the store Justice.
“(Angelina) bought really cute girly stuff in bright colours including little peasant tops, sweaters and tights,” a source said.
“She picked out a bunch of stuff and left very quickly. Once people noticed her, everyone was staring and running to see her, so she left with a bodyguard. She had several bags of birthday gifts for her daughter.”
Angelina adopted Zahara from Ethiopia in 2005 and the actress promised the youngster’s party yesterday would celebrate “her culture and heritage”.
“She’s an African/American girl, so we make sure that’s a part of anything she does. So that will be a part of her day,” she said.
Angelina and Brad attended the Palm Springs Film Festival on Sunday but the couple were not planning on attending any after-parties at the festival because of their family commitments.
“We are rushing back to the kids tonight. We have a birthday party in the morning with our daughter,” Angelina explained.
